Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The basic function of the Traffic Coordinator is to coordinate and be responsible for the daily production of the Traffic Logs for assigned networks in accordance with all company rules and regulations for each network.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the daily production of traffic logs for assigned networks using the Wide Orbit Traffic System in accordance with all company rules and regulations for each network, including program format input, order entry, and continuity processes.
  • Processing formats that have been sent via Wide Orbit Program. This includes timing out each program and adjusting each break to fit the timing allotment.
  • Fill each break with assigned promos, commercials, and other interstitials needed (e.g. bumps, id’s).
  • Review the logs and send to NOC for air.
  • Assist in entering orders and applying commercial copy as per agency instructions.
  • Assist in maintenance of tape inventory for both promos and commercials.
  • Ability to sometimes work outside of normal working hours.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Complexity of Duties: Interrelate to all other Departments as well as understanding the Traffic Departments function in the entire scope of the company
  • Difficult Problems: Must be able to meet deadlines and handle a wide variety of responsibilities.
  • Written and Oral Communications: Must have good skills and be able to communicate them in a professional manner.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Must be able to interrelate to all people in the office on a daily basis.                        
  • Decision Making: Ability to make decisions and solve problems with knowledge and good judgment.
  • Office Equipment/Machines: Equipment associated with the operation of the Traffic Department.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communication is required - equivalent experience accepted.
  • Knowledgeable in basic computer software systems.
  • Experience: Station/cable traffic and/or programming
  • Specific Knowledge: Television traffic operations and procedures, preferable.   
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to multitask and meet specific deadlines.  Ability to work well with others.
