    The Programming Acquisitions Executive is responsible for licensing and managing programming content for distribution on Olympusat’s Spanish and English language television networks to our subscribers across the country, specifically in the Asia market space. Olympusat is seeking an experienced professional proficient in content licensing and contract administration who is forward-thinking, analytical and motivated to assist in all facets of content distribution and video entertainment business, including strategic development, advanced advertising, rights management, and marketing/promotions. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of acquiring Asian content to include scripted series and movies.  Must have a robust book of contacts specifically in China as well as the remainder of the Asia territory.  Must be fully bilingual and proficient in English and Mandarin language. This position reports to the SVP, Hispanic Networks. The candidate is not required to relocate as this is a remote position. 


    • Negotiate and manage the acquisition of high quality independent films, documentaries and series.
    • Lead deal negotiations for acquisitions involving key company initiatives.
    • Structure programming deals including various business models (transactional, revenue sharing, subscription, license fee).
    • Develop term sheets and assist in negotiating rights for distribution of programming content across Olympusat’s expanding product suite.
    • Assist in the development of our advertising platforms and manage our adverting rights portfolio for high definition (HD) Spanish language content or the rights to convert SD films to HD for distribution on Olympusat’s affiliated networks and other third party distribution outlet through direct or sub-licensing agreements, across multiple platforms useful for the distribution.
    • Oversees the research, evaluation, and acquisition of new programming and associated services. Targets potential acquisitions and prepares recommendations and strategies.
    • Understand and lead projects to raise internal awareness regarding emerging technologies, user behavior trends and alternative distribution platforms/ecosystems (e.g. Amazon, Google).
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.


    • Strong ability to conduct standard and complex negotiations.
    • Ability to utilize key metrics to coordinate a formal evaluation process of new programming acquisitions.
    • Must be able to close deals quickly and constantly acquire content from new resources.
    • Ability to exercise consistent independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field.
    • 5 + years of experience, in cable television industry or programming development.
    • Bilingual: English and Mandarin is required. Must have strong contacts on the Asia territories and deep knowledge of the Asian content, scripted series and movies Must be proficient in Mandarin.
    • Substantial experience in strategy, negotiations, media consulting, and contract administration.
    • Effective communication (written & oral), organization and leadership skills a must.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Proficient with Sales Force in an effort to connect with internal facing clients.
    • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
    • Travel is required
